iQOO Z10R Review – A Beast in Budget or Just Another Hype?
Honestly, I didn’t had much expectation when I first heard about the iQOO Z10R. You know how brands keep throwin' new phones every month, with big claims like “best performance ever” or “flagship killer” and all. But iQOO has been quietly makin' its name, and this one... well, it actually got me thinking, "Wait, this might be somethin' special."
So I tried to get a good look at this phone, from design to performance, and here's my complete take on the iQOO Z10R — raw, unfiltered, and real.
First Glance – Design & Feel
Let’s be honest here — design ain't always the top thing people look for in budget range. But man, this phone actually looks solid. It's slim, but not too slim where it feels like it’ll break. The back panel has this slightly shimmery matte finish that don’t catch fingerprints too badly. I got the Blue variant in hand and it really pops out in sunlight.
Button placement is clean. You got your volume rocker and power button (which doubles as fingerprint sensor, yep). It ain’t glass back, but doesn’t feel cheap like some plastic backs either.
Pros:
-
Feels premium for its price
-
Lightweight, easy to grip
-
Fingerprint sensor is fast
Display – Good, But Not Perfect
Now this is where things gets interesting. The iQOO Z10R comes with a 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel, with 120Hz refresh rate. And I’ll tell you what — scrolling feels buttery smooth. Watching videos on YouTube or Netflix, the colors look punchy and deep. Brightness is okayish for outdoor use, but under direct sunlight, it could be better.
Also the bezels are minimal, but there’s still a tiny chin at the bottom. Not a big deal though.
🎯 Specs:
-
6.67" AMOLED, 120Hz
-
Resolution: 2400 x 1080 pixels
-
Peak Brightness: ~1200 nits
Performance – Snapdragon Power Under 15K?!
So here’s where iQOO Z10R really punches above its price. It’s powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset, which is kinda shocking for this segment. It’s paired with UFS 3.1 storage and LPDDR4X RAM, and trust me, it runs smooth like butter.
Gaming? I played BGMI and Asphalt 9 — no lags, no sudden heating. You might see few frame drops on high graphics in Genshin Impact, but that’s expected. Multitasking is decent too; apps stay in memory longer than what you'd expect from a ₹14,999 phone.
🔥 Benchmarks (approx):
-
AnTuTu: 565,000+
-
Geekbench: 915 (Single), 2800 (Multi)
Gaming Features
iQOO brings its own Ultra Game Mode, which adds things like 4D Game Vibration, voice changer, and block notifications while gaming. There’s also Z-axis linear motor, which gives nice haptic feedback in supported games. I won’t say it’s console-like, but it’s fun.
Camera – Good in Day, Meh at Night
This is one area where the Z10R could've been better. It packs a 64MP primary camera, along with a 2MP depth sensor. No ultra-wide sadly, which hurts a bit. But the main sensor clicks sharp, vibrant shots in daylight.
Low light though, is average. Details get mushy and noise creeps in. The night mode helps a bit, but don’t expect magic.
Front Camera: 16MP selfie shooter — decent for reels and video calls, but nothing too special.
Camera Features:
-
64MP f/1.8 primary sensor
-
2MP depth sensor
-
Night mode, Pro mode, EIS for video
-
1080p @ 60fps video recording
Battery & Charging – fast
Now this is what I love the most about iQOO phones. This baby comes with a 5000mAh battery, and get this — 66W fast charging. Yup, full charge in around 40-45 mins. For real.
Battery easily lasts one full day even with heavy use. If you're a light user, maybe 1.5 days.
🔌 Charging Stats:
-
0 to 50% in 20 mins
-
USB-C port
-
Charger included in box (thank god)
Audio, Network & Extras
-
Speaker: Mono speaker — loud, but not stereo sadly
-
5G Bands: Yes, supports multiple bands. Good for future use
-
Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3 – pretty good connectivity
-
IR Blaster – yup, you can use it as TV remote
-
No headphone jack, bummer for wired earphone lovers
Software – Funtouch OS, Not So Fun?
The iQOO Z10R runs on Funtouch OS 14 based on Android 14. It’s snappy, but still has some bloatware — bunch of preinstalled apps you’ll probably delete instantly. On the plus side, iQOO promises 2 years Android updates and 3 years security patches, which is decent.
Variants & Price (India)
-
6GB RAM + 128GB – ₹14,999
-
8GB RAM + 128GB – ₹15,999
-
8GB + 256GB – ₹16,999
(Prices may vary in offers or sales)
Final Thoughts – Should You Buy It?
If you ask me, yes – this phone is a steal in this price. Sure, there are some things missing like stereo speakers or ultra-wide camera, but for under 15-17K, you're gettin':
-
AMOLED screen with 120Hz
-
Snapdragon 7 Gen 1
-
66W charging
-
Decent primary camera
-
Clean and fast UI (mostly)
So yeah, iQOO Z10R ain’t just another phone in the crowd. It actually delivers where it matters. If you’re lookin’ for a fast, all-round phone under ₹16K, this one’s definitely worth a look.
